You give Him butterflies

It's true.
The creator of love, the creator of all the feels gets butterflies by the sound of your voice.

You can remember the beginning of any romance. You rejoice when your love comes into a room. You glow after each kiss or hug. You get butterflies at the sound of their voice. We have the same affect to Love.

God is Love, it's one of His names. He is the most lovely, lovable, and eternal spring of love. His love outshines all the hearts and shooting stars that we dedicate to one another. His love is deeper than any ocean or hotter than any lava that bubbles on this earth.

The love we know isn't the same kind of love that He is. The love I have for my husband is intimate and true, but it's not as sacred as His. His love is the love that casts away all of my shame, all of my pain, and all of my fears.

His love settles my heart, my mind, and my self-destructive ways. Because of His love for me, I know how to love myself and others.

To be intimate with God is to have a real relationship with Him. If you can't accept love from people then His love will make you feel way more uncomfortable! I used to feel uncomfortable by His love. It's too intense, too real, too out of this world. But I couldn't run away from it. No matter what I did or how I felt, His love was always there.

I felt His acceptance, I felt His mercy, I felt His grace, and I felt His heart. His love falls like fire and it fills you up inside. My cup overflows with His love.

Then when I reach out to pour out my love for Him, it moves Him. His heart flutters, His eyes glow, His stomach is filled with butterflies.

It's the most romantic love available to anyone.

Don't feel awkward. It's not your awkward middle school romance that was exciting at first but then got boring. It never fizzles out on His end. You can depend on His love.

The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.
—  Zephaniah 3:17

But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.
—  Psalm 86:15

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ —  by grace you have been saved —
—  Ephesians 2:4-5
