Let help come

I am in a season where things are limited. I have to put a lot more thought into things before I take action. I have to consider many dominoes that will be affected from one move. There aren't any rules that are making this happen, it's just new boundaries that I have to set up. Although I feel as if I can't reach certain things, I do feel stretched. My perspective is changing. I am in a deep cave looking for a new way out. And it's in this cave that I am discovering what is inside me.

2017 is almost over and it has felt like a very long year. A lot of sorrow and pain, but also moments of joy and relief. I know my husband and I will look back at this year and get a lot of mix of emotions and thoughts. It was entering our second year of marriage where we saw even more of each other, and I saw more of Jesus in him. Marriage has become more beautiful and I can see how important it is to be there for one another and to communicate.

God has been so faithful. Even if I feel alone I know He is always here. Knowing that God is near really does make me feel better. It reminds me that I am never alone in any situation. When I make a scary phone call, I am not alone. When I have to go in for a meeting, I am not alone. I have Someone who is the most understanding, on my side, and will not let me down. God will never let us get fooled when we look to Him for help. Scripture shows us how much He is there to help, whether it's to open doors or build a bridge -- God will come. He will hear your cry, answer you, and free you from your fears.

His help is limitless and He is at hand.

Psalm 34 can confirm this:
I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from my fears...
Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces...
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! Those who fear him have no lack! The young lions suffer want and hunger, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing...
When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

If you are in trouble, are in pain, or could really use some help -- cry out to God! You are blessed when you take refuge in Him. You will lack nothing if you seek God and submit to Him. Sometimes we forget to cry out to Him because we know He sees us and is aware of what's happening. But He waits to hear our cry. Our cries move His heart to come.

In prayer the other day God showed me how He listens. He hears us, He is in our conversations, He is aware of everything -- but it's when we start to cry for His attention He moves His ear closer to listen in. He is ready. That's what it is -- He is ready because He is already listening. But He waits for the cry.

It's like when you're listening to another person's conversation. You're listening to every word -- but once they call you you truly focus and move.

When we are sure we take our refuge in God, we can be sure that He won't bring us to a place that will harm us if we're asking for help.

You also don't have to fear others; whether for you that means government aid agencies or a job interviewer -- if God is for you who can be against you?

The Lord redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.
 — Psalm 34:22

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
